Doctoral Position

Integrative cognitive-motor technology and rehabilitation

full-time, fixed-term, fully funded position at the Department of Health Sciences and Technology at ETH Zurich

(Campus Hönggerberg)

Our group is conducting impactful research on innovative training and rehabilitation methods and technology-based cognitive-motor assessments in older adults and patient populations (mostly) in clinical settings.

Project Description

The doctoral position will be within the international research project “A novel technology-based care concept for an accessible and personalized cognitive-motor therapy to counteract frailty and promote health (PROHEALTH)” funded by the European Partnership for transforming health and care systems (THCS).

Aim of the project is to assess the effectiveness of an ICT-based tele-rehabilitation concept within the scope of a pragmatic multi-center randomized controlled trial.

Main Tasks

  • Define personalized cognitive-motor exergame training requirements within the scope of outpatient rehabilitation
  • Plan and coordinate research studies
  • Disseminate research outcomes at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals
  • Supervise masters` students

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Human Movement Sciences, Sport Sciences, Neuropsychology, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields
  • Strong interest in ICTs for health and rehabilitation
  • Curiosity and motivation for scientifically rigorous experimental and clinical work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work with patients and clinicians
  • Self-motivation, ability to work independently and solution-oriented mentality
  • Excellent oral and written English skills; conversational German is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Willingness to support teaching activities
